Hi friends, I would love to share a few of my recent paintings with you and invite you to a Christmas Open House at Smellie Bloomers in Elizabethtown, NC, a beautiful gift shop with plenty of eye candy that is sure to please.
Each year I choose a Christmas theme and this year I chose to paint Christmas elves, most are created with a fairly new medium for me…gouache. Gouache is an opaque watercolor and looks like velvet. I also chose to paint on birch wood, a beautiful substrate to paint on, each painting is sealed and can be hung on the wall, displayed on a shelf or table, and you can move them around easily as your décor changes. I do hope you enjoy looking at a sampling of my elves
The following two elves are inspired from a friend’s adorable children and a special tradition. The first little elf is named “Katherine” (that’s my name too). The second little elf is “Zachary”. Each year this beautiful family seeks out to find the perfect Christmas tree. I’ve also included a photo of Zachary and Katherine. Hoping if your near you will come see me next Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 2:00-6:00 pm at Smellie Bloomers’ Christmas Open House. Please stop by and chat with me while I paint on site.
