Impressionist paintings have always been a favorite of mine and a couple of months ago I got a chance to paint like Monet (ha) down by Bear Creek in Hubert, NC with some friends of mine. Christmas in July and Tuesday’s Treasure Chest
I am so excited to announce my new Christmas painting theme, it’s all about bunny rabbits this Christmas season. I used to think that Christmas in July was so not cool until I started painting seasonal subjects, now I understand the time and planning that must be done prior to Christmas. I will be postingContinue reading “Christmas in July and Tuesday’s Treasure Chest”

Happy Fourth of July
This is watercolor infused with mica chips ( twinkling H2o’s) written with India ink and a pipette on watercolor paper. Joanne Sharpe’s online LLove 201 workshop is wonderful. Happy Fourth of July friends.
The Perfect Retirement Gift
Last month I was contacted by a young lady to paint the perfect gift for her grandfather who was retiring. She had a photograph of the two of them together and she said it was her favorite picture. Happy retirement Col. Allen!
Discarded bling-Tuesday’s Treasure Chest

My artist/friend Betty K. has inspired me to create bling assemblages with “pretty” junk, so I have been visiting antique/flea markets scouring the broken jewelry cases and displays. Sometimes I come away with some finds andContinue reading “Discarded bling-Tuesday’s Treasure Chest”

Emerald Isle Poppies
Last Sunday one of my dreams came true-I painted poppies right smack dab in a field of poppies. No I wasn’t in Tuscany, these brilliant poppies were located right before the Emerald Isle bridge. What a gorgeous day to paint with the OOPS group, better known as Onslow Outdoor Painting Society.
