Tuesday’s Treasure Chest? Where did it go?

I want to revive my “Tuesday’s Treasure Chest” blog posts which I started a long time ago, but got out of the habit (sorry, I’ve neglected by blog and post frequently on Facebook). Let’s do this, I’ll start by sharing THREE terrific things that I treasure………..
First I’ll start with something you might not know about me, in the last year I’ve become an Artist-in residence (kind of). I had the opportunity to trade paintings for Ocean Isle Beach lodging. What did I paint? A mermaid, of course! The beach has long been a treasure of mine, I grew up seven miles from the Atlantic Coast. I’m looking for Artist-in-residence programs, haha.
Here comes the bride, well at least her shoes. I enjoyed painting “Jessica’s Wedding Shoes” after attending her fabulous wedding. Years ago Jessica and her family lived in our neighborhood, my how time flies, leaving treasured neighborhood memories.
Drawing is becoming a treasured and renewed passion of mine, here’s a new mermaid teapot drawing, thinking of painting it, what do you think? Carolina Artists’ Colony is having The Great Teapot Extravaganza in a couple of weeks so I better get busy if I want to enter.

Painting for Adam
Posted in Art, Events, tagged sailboat, White Lake on July 19, 2013| 1 Comment »
This original painting will be offered by silent auction for the Adam Hardee Fundraiser event tomorrow from 4-7 pm at Regal Resort, White Lake, NC. The event is to raise money for Adam and to help him with expenses and costs acquired since his car accident.
Adam and my two sons grew up and played together in our little White Lake neighborhood. Adam and his family have been dear friends of ours for years. I wanted to create a very special painting for this event. The painting was created as I sat at the end of our pier and the sailboat was inspired by a friend who contributed the photo of someone sailing around the lake. I used water from the lake mixed in with the acrylic paint, so it truly is special.
Please come and join us tomorrow so you will have a chance to bid on this special original painting of White Lake.
Happy Bidding!

Mr. Rudolph’s Gift and “French Kisses”
Posted in Art, Events, Gallery, Musings, tagged grapes, painting on October 25, 2012| 6 Comments »
Pondering and dreaming about the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, they are my most enjoyable times of the year. I love the thankful hearts, the joyful giving and celebrations that come with this special time.
Those of you who know me, know that painting is truly my passion, but it would not be so without the support from my friends and family.Kind deeds and thoughts do not have to be grand to settle comfortably in one’s heart, often the most simple gestures can be the most uplifting. I am thankful for good friends who text me and say they have grapes fresh off the vine and ask me do I want to paint them? One friend did just that and as the result I painted “Mr. Rudolph’s Gift” . This painting will be included in “French Kisses” gallery select exhibit which celebrates everyday joys. “French Kisses” artists’ reception is tomorrow night, October 26, 2012 at Chambers Arts Gallery in Cary, NC.
