The Red Pier

This painting has been under wraps because it was a Christmas commission. A very special client came to me a few months ago asking me to paint her three grandchildren at the lake. One of the things she shared was their love to feed the ducks. Linda commissioned this as a gift for her daughter and son-in-law.

The palette knife lends itself to a thicker impasto style painting and I love the fresh juicy paint look. Artist Leslie Saeta is posting a challenge on her blog to help artists show their work and to practice their skills, it’s called thirty paintings in thirty days.
