I want to revive my “Tuesday’s Treasure Chest” blog posts which I started a long time ago, but got out of the habit (sorry, I’ve neglected by blog and post frequently on Facebook). Let’s do this, I’ll start by sharing THREE terrific things that I treasure………..
First I’ll start with something you might not know about me, in the last year I’ve become an Artist-in residence (kind of). I had the opportunity to trade paintings for Ocean Isle Beach lodging. What did I paint? A mermaid, of course! The beach has long been a treasure of mine, I grew up seven miles from the Atlantic Coast. I’m looking for Artist-in-residence programs, haha.

Here comes the bride, well at least her shoes. I enjoyed painting “Jessica’s Wedding Shoes” after attending her fabulous wedding. Years ago Jessica and her family lived in our neighborhood, my how time flies, leaving treasured neighborhood memories.

Drawing is becoming a treasured and renewed passion of mine, here’s a new mermaid teapot drawing, thinking of painting it, what do you think? Carolina Artists’ Colony is having The Great Teapot Extravaganza in a couple of weeks so I better get busy if I want to enter.

Will this be my last summer painting for the 30 in 30 paint challenge? All of my themes for the challenge came from Facebook friends’ suggestions or photographs. Wonder what #27 will be?

I gave away my old jewelry and buttons a few months ago, of course I need them now, sigh.
My artist/friend Betty K. has inspired me to create bling assemblages with “pretty” junk, so I have been visiting antique/flea markets scouring the broken jewelry cases and displays. Sometimes I come away with some finds and sometimes I leave with lots of sneezes.
Last week I finished my first bling assemblage and started my second one, the second one includes tiny shells and jewelry.
I am hooked on bling junk now, thanks Betty K.

Thanks for your interest in my private studio sale this Christmas, here’s a few more special paintings from my studio that would make excellent gifts. These paintings are created with acrylic and hand embellished with ink and silver/gold leaf.   Each painting measures 6″x6″ and comes framed in a black museum box frame. These can be sold together and would make a beautiful grouping, or can be sold separately.   Please  email me at kbunn@ec.rr.com if you are interested.
